Mixed Stencil Layers with Roller SpongeBegin by cutting a pattern of negative shapes from a piece of card stock or other heavy paper.
Use a sponge, stamp, or spray paint to fill-in the negative shapes. Apply thin or transparent colors so that you can see the various layers as you move the stencils around. |
Flower PrintingFind a flower or colorful leaf
Carefully arrange it on your paper surface and lightly and pound it with a hammer or hard object to release the pigment into the paper -or- Find a flower or interesting leaf formation Carefully roll ink onto the surface, place your paper on top and rub the back of the paper to transfer the ink (this is similar to collograph techniques). Each flower or leaf will not be able to be re-printed |
Hot Melt Glue PrintingCreate a linear design using string soaked in Elmer's white glue and adhere it a piece of card stock or chip board to dry over night.
Coat the string and chip bard in gel medium and print as a relief. -or- Create a linear design with hot melt glue on a hard smooth surface. Once the glue has hardened carefully remove it in one piece. Print the hot melt glue as a relief or stencil design |
Packing Tape TransfersFind an image to transfer in Magazine or on a toner based photo copier or printer (ink jet does not work)
Carefully apply one layer of clear packing tape over the surface (avoid bubbles and excessive overlapping) Burnish the tape to fully adhere the tape Soak the tape and carefully use your finger tips to remove the paper from the back of the tape. |
